I’m Stephen Cane, the stylist and educator behind Stephen William Hair.

I’ve worked in the hair industry for over a decade, specialising in modern colour work with a particular focus on Grey Blending, an area I’ve become widely recognised for through my education, social media content and client transformations.

Over the years, I’ve built a reputation for creating soft, expensive-looking colour that feels personalised, wearable and low maintenance, especially for clients navigating grey hair transitions or wanting a more modern alternative to traditional full coverage colour.

My approach combines technical knowledge with honest consultation and long-term planning. I don’t believe in one-size-fits-all hair. Every client sits in my chair with different hair history, lifestyle needs, maintenance preferences and confidence levels, so every service is designed around the individual rather than forcing everyone into the same formula or technique.

Alongside working behind the chair, I also educate hairdressers internationally through my Grey Mapping Method™, helping stylists simplify grey blending and approach it with more confidence, clarity and strategy rather than guesswork. My education has helped thousands of stylists rethink the way they approach grey hair and modern colour services.

I’m also a multi award-winning stylist, on the Redken Artist Team and content creator, known for combining education with honest industry conversations around confidence, pricing, consultation and modern hair colour.

Outside of hair, I’m someone who values creativity, growth and connection. Before entering the hair industry, I worked within speech and language therapy and mental health care, experiences which shaped the way I communicate with people today. Creating a calm, supportive and judgement-free environment in the salon has always been just as important to me as the hair itself.
